In particular, Amanda, one of the co-owners, has been celebrated for her personable service that makes every guest feel like family.
The cocktail menu is certainly one of the highlights of The Woodlot. Signature drinks such as the Honey Bear Redemption, a delicious mix of rye, fresh lemon, honey, and a green chartreuse float, and the ever-popular Espresso Martini featuring freshly brewed espresso, are must-tries. If you’re looking for something with a kick, the Jalapeno Margarita offers a tantalizing blend of house-infused tequila and fresh lime—a perfect pairing for a lively night out.
The drink offerings don't end at cocktails. The carefully curated selection of wines includes everything from Italian Prosecco to California Cabernet, ensuring there’s something to please every palate. Moreover, craft beers like the Hyperfocus DIPA and the Cherry Rebus sour from Grimm Artisanal Ales add a local twist, showcasing the creativity found in Brooklyn’s brewing scene.
Although The Woodlot is known primarily for its drinks, the menu boasts a range of delectable bites that are not to be missed. Patrons have highlighted the Honey Garlic Wings and Classic Buffalo Wings, which are praised for their freshness and flavor. A recent reviewer even remarked on the crispy texture and robust flavor; while they ponder whether they are indeed the best wings in Queens, one thing is clear: they’re worth a second taste.
To complement your drinks, don’t overlook the flavorful sides like onion rings and garlic fries. These accompany the main offerings beautifully, making for a truly satisfying dining experience. Despite some minor critiques regarding temperatures, patrons consistently agree that the food bursts with flavor, making it ideal for casual dining or a fun night out with friends.

“ Didn't have food and barely drank but the ambiance in this place was amazing. The decor, music and lighting really set the mood. Made me want to come back. ”
“ I am Happy to say I was introduced to The Woodlot thanks to a Yelp event. I enjoyed the atmosphere and service, I declared that I would definitely return. A couple months later a fav and I decided to stop in after an event. Upon walking in Amanda (co-owner/partner) greeted me by name. What? How in the world did she remember me by name? That's wild and the look on my face expressed my utter surprise. We all burst out in laughter. Just like the first time we grabbed a seat @ the bar. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and feel of the space. It gives spacious elevated comfort, if that's even an interior design thing. Amanda was just as sweet and attentive as before as she managed to take care of everyone solo. I told her I returned like I said I would to try their wings and another cocktail off the menu. My fav and I both opted for a couple of the FOCO U Martinis. For wings I went with the Honey Garlic and my fav went with the Classic Buffalo. The wings were fresh and hot, I can't say for sure if they are the "Best Wings in Queens" just yet. They were good however, I need to try them a couple more times before I can decide. Amanda thank you for your amazing service and impressionable personality. I think I found a go-to spot in Woodside. Just A Note: They do not offer ranch with the wings, only blue cheese (yuck). TBH it's not needed the wings can stand on their own. ”
“ Love this place, food and drinks are amazing and the service is phenomenal! Try the old fashion and chicken wings . They also have a great chicken sandwich. Lovely ideal place to get food and finish the day off with great music and drinks. They have a unique cocktail menu with amazing flavors. Awesome ambiance as well. it's always a great vibe ! They also have authentic art work on display which changes from time to time which is refreshing. Definitely a must ”
“ I love everything about the Woodlot!! There is such a positive vibe going on. Amanda, Sarah and Josh are so welcoming, the drinks are amazing, especially the espresso martini and the food is fantastic. The Woodlot is a refreshing oasis in the Woodside area. Highly recommended! ”
“ 3.5 stars But I decided to give 4 because there were more things I liked than didn't. The highlights here were the Honey Bear cocktail, onion rings, and garlic fries! All were so good! The ambiance threw me off a little. I walked in to meet my husband and at the bar were a couple of Wall Street bros. Very odd given that the playlist all night was 90's and very early 2000's R&B. Anywho, I loved the music it's just the crowd seemed not what I expected. Besides the Wall Street dudes (who were a little loud and obnoxious as they usually can be, one of them was at the bar and my husband was at a table next to them and one of them threw their dirty napkin on my husband's table before I arrived). The crowd aside from this was pretty chill. Not really that diverse but nonetheless it was pretty chill. Dimly lit and very cute for a date night. The service was decent. We had an attentive waiter but got my husband's drink wrong on the first order. We had to repeat a few things more than once. Seemed like he's not familiar with the menu or it was his first time waiting tables. Nonetheless overall he served us well and the food didn't take long to come out. However the honey sesame wings I ordered were a bit more on the warm side than hot. Same for the garlic fries I ordered. The deliciousness of the fries made up for it not being hot though. For drinks, besides the honey bear I had the Amor Illegal which was nothing to sneeze at. I was expecting a better taste. I would give this place another try. I wouldn't advise anyone to go out of their way to come here per se but if you're in the area it's a great bar to grab some tasty bites and drinks. I highly recommend getting the Honey Bear and onion rings and fries. Don't be afraid of the Whiskey in the honey Bear, it is a super well balanced drink that deserves a try whether you're a Whiskey drinker or not. ”
“ Nice ambiance, not too crowded, and easily accessible by subway. I do hope they add more mocktail options in the future. ”
“ Came on a Tuesday night, wasn't busy. Felt bad because the bartender was also the hostess and waitress. But she killed it and never left us waiting long. Not a place I normally go too and I'm glad my friend recommended it it's such a cute hole in the wall spot. Perfect for a girls night, date night or just drinks and apps. Food was so good we couldn't stop raving about it, except the tacos meat was a bit over cooked with both the chicken and carnitas. Wouldn't stop me from coming here though. Drinks were tasty not too strong or weak. ”
“ I truly love place. It's low key and vibey . The ambiance is nice and I love their music playlist. The smash burger was cooked perfectly and it was juicy ! The wings had many flavors to choose from I chose honey garlic and I'm glad did ! The bartender was a sweetheart, and she was super attentive and engaging ! Super cute spot for a date night oh, the bathrooms were clean btw and that is major points for me!! ”
